Privacy Policy

Memo ("we", "our", "us") operates the WhatsApp assistant available at gomemo.chat. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

• Account data: your name, WhatsApp phone number, email (if you sign up on the website).
• Messages: text, voice and image messages you send to the Memo WhatsApp number, along with our replies, so we can provide reminders and respond to you.
• Reminders & lists: the content you ask us to remember (titles, dates, items, notes).
• Google Calendar data (only if you connect): we access your calendar via Google's OAuth to read your upcoming events, create events you ask us to add, edit or delete events you reschedule, and include events in your morning summary. We never read or share events outside of these features.
• Billing data: if you subscribe, we store your Stripe customer ID and subscription status. Card details are handled by Stripe and never stored on our servers.

2. How We Use Information

• To deliver the Memo service: send reminders, manage your calendar, answer questions.
• To improve the AI's replies (we may review messages internally to debug or improve quality — never sold to third parties).
• To process payments and send service notifications (e.g. welcome message after upgrade).

3. Google User Data & Limited Use

Memo's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use Google Calendar data only to provide user-facing features inside Memo. We do not transfer this data to third parties except as needed to provide the service, comply with law, or as part of a merger or acquisition. We do not use this data for advertising, and we do not allow humans to read it except: with your explicit consent, for security purposes, to comply with applicable law, or in aggregated/anonymised form for internal operations.

4. Sharing

We share data only with the service providers required to operate Memo:

• Meta (WhatsApp Business Cloud API) — to deliver and receive messages.
• Google — only when you connect your Google Calendar.
• Stripe — for subscription billing.
• Supabase — for database and backend hosting.
• Google Gemini (AI) — message content is sent to Google's Gemini API to generate replies.

We do not sell personal data.

5. Data Retention

We keep account data and reminders for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account by emailing us (see contact below) and we will erase your data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g. tax records).

6. Your Rights

You can:

• Disconnect Google Calendar at any time from your Google account.
• Request a copy or deletion of your data.
• Stop using the service by sending "stop" or blocking the WhatsApp number.

7. Security

We use industry-standard security: encrypted database, HTTPS for all traffic, restricted access to credentials. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to minimise risk.

8. Children

Memo is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
